Not because I wanted to, but because the jobs I trained for didn't exist here.</h4><h4>Years later, life brought my fiancé, Nick, and me home to care for family.</h4><h4>Coming back made something clear: decisions made at the State Capitol don't stay in Charleston. They show up at our kitchen tables, shaping whether families can afford childcare, pay their utility bills, care for loved ones, and stay rooted in the communities they love.</h4><h4>I chose to come home for good. To put down roots, show up, and do my part.</h4><h3 style="text-align: left;">I'm running for the West Virginia House of Delegates because too many decisions are made without listening to the people who live with the consequences. District 47 deserves a representative who understands that policy isn't abstract. It's personal. And I will fight for working families with honesty, transparency and respect. </h3>

We're investing in our own people, the ones who stayed, and the ones who want to come home and stay. <h3>2. Make student debt less of a barrier to coming home.</h3>Work-in-WV Student Loan Relief<ul><li>Annual student loan repayment assistance for returning residents,</li><li>Tied to full-time work in West Virginia,</li><li>Prioritizes fields the state actually needs: healthcare, education, skilled trades, public service, and small business.</li></ul>Why this matters Debt shouldn’t trap people in states they don’t want to live in. If you bring your skills home, the state should meet you halfway.<h3>3. Support families who are rebuilding their lives here.</h3>Child Care &amp; Workforce Stability Credit<ul><li>Helps returning families afford licensed child care,</li><li>Keeps parents in the workforce,</li><li>Strengthens local child care providers at the same time.</li></ul>Why it matters: People don’t move alone. They move with kids, responsibilities, and real lives.<h3>4. Finding and paying for child care</h3>What families are dealing with: You can’t work if you don’t have child care — and right now it’s hard to find, hard to afford, or both.What I’ll work on:<ul><li>Keep child care centers open and affordable by supporting providers and their workers,</li><li>Expand access to child care assistance so working parents, grandparents, and kinship caregivers aren’t shut out,</li><li>Make sure child care works for rural families, not just big cities.</li></ul>Bottom line: Parents shouldn’t lose a paycheck just to go to work.<h3>2. Covering groceries, rent, and utilities</h3>What families are dealing with: Paychecks aren’t stretching far enough, and everyday bills keep going up.What I’ll work on:<ul><li>Connect job training to real, local jobs that pay — not empty promises,</li><li>Protect families from sudden spikes in utility and housing costs,</li><li>Support policies that help wages keep up with the cost of living,</li></ul>Bottom line: If you work full-time, the basics should be covered.<h3>3. Getting care when someone is sick</h3>What families are dealing with: Getting sick shouldn’t mean hours on the road or putting off care because it’s too expensive.What I’ll work on:<ul><li>Protect rural hospitals and clinics so care stays close to home,</li><li>Expand access to primary care, mental health care, and tele-health,</li><li>Focus on preventive care so small problems don’t turn into emergencies.</li></ul>Bottom line: No family should have to travel long distances to receive health care.<h3>4. Too often they are held by red tape, limited access of capital, and rules written for big corporations in mind, not working families trying to make payroll.Policy actions:<ul><li>Expand access to low-interest state-backed loans and grants for small and locally owned businesses</li><li>Prioritize local businesses in state purchasing and contracting, keeping taxpayer dollars in our communities,</li><li>Streamline licensing and permitting so small businesses can open and expand faster and cheaper.</li></ul>Bottom line: If we want jobs to stay here, we need to help the businesses already here grow.<h3>2. Attracting New Industries &amp; Creating Jobs</h3>The problem: West Virginia keeps chasing the same industries while our young people leave for opportunity elsewhere.Policy actions:<ul><li>Target new and emerging industries—clean energy manufacturing, outdoor recreation, remote work hubs, health care support services,</li><li>Invest in infrastructure and broadband that actually makes communities competitive for modern employers,</li><li>Tie economic development incentives to local hiring, training, and long-term job commitments.</li></ul>Bottom line: Economic growth should build careers here—not just headlines. <h3>3. Better Jobs and Higher Wages</h3>The problem: Too many jobs don’t pay enough to build a life—and too many workers are locked out of training that leads to better pay.Policy actions:<ul><li>Support workforce training and apprenticeship programs tied directly to local employers and real job openings,</li><li>Promote fair labor standards so work pays and wages keep up with the cost of living,</li><li>Invest in education and skill-building programs that lead to long-term careers, not short-term fixes.</li></ul>Bottom line: An economy works when a full-time job is enough to live on.
